Music Project Amplify

In communities where opportunities for creative expression are often limited, AMPLIFY is helping teens find their voices—sometimes for the very first time. Thanks to the sustained support and vision of the Olson Foundation, what began as an ambitious idea in 2023 is now a thriving, multi-dimensional program transforming lives through the power of music.

AMPLIFY is a youth-centered, strength-based program that empowers teens to explore music and art through a social-emotional lens. From forming bands and building their own instruments to writing, recording, and performing original music, participants are supported every step of the way—often with no prior musical experience. The program bridges artistic expression with emotional growth, creating an environment where creativity, connection, and confidence flourish.

What makes AMPLIFY so unique is not just its approach, but its presence. In a community where music education and creative outlets are scarce, this program provides something rare and deeply needed: access. It’s an open door for young people who might otherwise never be handed a mic, a guitar, or a stage.

From the beginning, the Olson Foundation has been more than a funder—they’ve been a partner in purpose. By helping to build the infrastructure and provide sustained support, the Foundation has enabled AMPLIFY to become a lasting part of the community. Their three-year commitment beginning in 2023 helped transform AMPLIFY from an idea into a powerful platform for youth development.

Through mentorship from local Seattle musicians, AMPLIFY participants receive guidance not only in their artistic journeys but also in building self-esteem, communication skills, and emotional resilience. These mentors model what’s possible through music, and in doing so, show teens that their stories matter—and that those stories can be shared with the world.

Every song written, every instrument played, every stage stepped onto represents more than just a musical milestone. It represents possibility, pride, and the beginning of something meaningful.
